The I'm A Celebrity star, now 27, who rose to fame on TikTok, spoke out for the first time about the harrowing ordeal in an interview with The Sun. She explained that the man had offered her a lift to work, but instead of heading to the office, he drove to a deserted park where he demanded oral sex.Grace described feeling frozen throughout the ordeal, explaining that there was a massive imbalance of power which he was fully taking advantage of. She said resisting or fighting back felt like it might make things worse, and there was never a moment in her mind where she thought she could say no because she was only 17 and scared and unable to process the situation logically.Terrified, Grace continued her work experience and on the last day the man sent the rest of the staff home, took her to a room, locked it and raped her. At the time she blamed herself and felt the placement was a make or break moment as she was doing an extra year at college after failing her GCSEs. It took her ten years to recognise that what had happened was rape.She came to understand that the attacker had a position of power, was significantly older than her, and that the entire experience was deeply wrong. Grace stayed silent for a year but when she heard another girl was heading to the same place for work experience, she confided in her teacher. Police were then informed along with her mother, who she said was in shock and devastated.However, after sharing her account with a female police officer, the case was dropped due to lack of evidence. Following the ordeal, Grace headed to Nottingham Trent University to study film studies and admitted she went off the rails as she struggled to come to terms with what had happened. She has never had any therapy but confided in her girlfriend Ella early in their relationship, who she described as incredibly supportive.The trauma has had lasting effects, and Grace now lives in fear of bumping into her attacker when she returns to her hometown of Cambridge. She avoids places where she might see him and does not even like driving past the location where she did her work experience. Grace bravely shares her story in her new book, It's Giving Life, in the hope it will help others who have endured similar situations.She said she had always thought rape was someone in a dark alleyway jumping out at you, but it was not like that at all
