The Los Angeles Angels snapped a seven-game losing streak with a dramatic 4-3 extra-inning victory over the New York Mets on Saturday night in Anaheim, California.

Angels Secure Walk-Off Win

The decisive moment came in the 10th inning when Oswald Peraza delivered a clutch two-out RBI single, breaking the deadlock and securing the win for the Angels. The inning began with Jorge Soler drawing a leadoff walk, followed by Jo Adell’s single to load the bases.

Despite Austin Warren’s efforts, Peraza’s sharp hit into left-center field sealed the victory for Los Angeles.

Bullpen and Starting Pitching Key

The Angels’ bullpen played a pivotal role, with Sam Bachman striking out three batters in 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Ryan Zeferjahn pitched two flawless innings to earn the win.

Reid Detmers delivered a solid start for the Angels, allowing just one run on four hits over six innings.

Mets Rally Falls Short

The Mets threatened in the bottom of the 10th with Brett Baty reaching on catcher’s interference. However, Zeferjahn induced a double play from Bo Bichette and a pop-out from Francisco Alvarez to preserve the lead.

The Mets rallied in the seventh inning with Mark Vientos’ double and Marcus Semien’s single, followed by a sacrifice fly and an RBI single to tie the game at 3-3.

Early Lead and Controversial Call

The Angels took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning with consecutive two-out singles from Nolan Schanuel, Jorge Soler, and Jo Adell. A controversial call at the plate, where Schanuel was ruled safe despite replays suggesting otherwise, added to the game’s drama.

Vaughn Grissom’s two-run single extended the Angels’ lead to 3-1 in the fourth inning.

Sunday’s series finale will feature Clay Holmes (3-2, 1.75 ERA) of the Mets against Jack Kochanowicz (2-0, 3.09 ERA) of the Angels.
