Discover the various methods for unlocking features, recruiting Pokémon, and progressing in Pokémon Champions. This guide breaks down the currencies available – Victory Points, Quick Coupons, Teammate Tickets, and Training Tickets – and outlines how players can earn and utilize them to optimize their gameplay experience.

Understanding In-Game Currencies

Beyond simply becoming a Pokémon Champion, players have several tools to recruit and train their Pokémon. While Victory Points (VP), earned through in-game activities, are a primary currency, the game offers alternative methods to unlock features and acquire essential items. This system provides diverse paths to progress for both free-to-play and paying players.

Victory Points (VP)

Victory Points (VP) are fundamental to unlocking in-game features and acquiring items. This currency facilitates Pokémon recruitment and allows players to purchase items, including cosmetic enhancements and Held Items that boost Pokémon abilities. Currently, VP cannot be directly purchased.

Players can accumulate VP by completing daily and weekly missions, achieving level 31 and above in the monthly Battle Pass (earning 500 VP per level), and succeeding in ranked battles (with rewards scaling based on rank). A paid membership provides access to additional missions and increased VP earning opportunities.

Alternative Currencies: Coupons & Tickets

The game introduces alternative currency options – coupons and tickets – that can be used instead of VP. These are accessible to all players.

Quick Coupons

Quick Coupons expedite the refresh timer for the Pokémon lineup in the Recruit menu. The number of coupons needed depends on the remaining time until the next free refresh. Players can also use VP to hasten the timer if Quick Coupons are unavailable.

Teammate Tickets

Teammate Tickets permanently recruit new Pokémon from the Pokémon Ranch, serving as a substitute for spending VP. This is a strategy to conserve VP for other in-game purposes.

Training Tickets

Training Tickets can be used in place of Victory Points when training Pokémon, allowing for changes to Moves and Stats. These appear to be the rarest currency at launch, obtainable through the Free or Paid Battle Pass and special membership missions (exclusive to paid players).

Earning Currencies Through Gameplay

Completing Battle Tutorials is another way to acquire coupons and tickets. Completing tutorials like Move Priority, Physical vs. Special Moves, and Status Conditions grants 22 Quick Coupons per tutorial. Completing Contact vs. Noncontact Moves, Weather Conditions, and Terrains Battle Tutorials rewards players with one Teammate Ticket per tutorial.

While certain cosmetic items may be restricted to the paid Battle Pass, the majority of items are earned through active gameplay. The game’s design empowers players to advance and customize their experience through strategic decision-making and efficient resource management. The flexibility in currency usage allows players to tailor their progression, regardless of whether they choose a free-to-play experience or a paid membership.
