Research led by Professor Kai Chen at the Yale School of Public Health indicates that air conditioning prevented approximately 58,000 deaths across the United States over a ten-year period. By analyzing 30 million death records, the study determined that cooling systems saved an average of 5,267 lives annually. The impact was most pronounced in states with intense heat profiles, including Arizona, Florida, Texas, Louisiana, and the southern regions of Nevada, Alabama, and Mississippi .
