Dannielynn Birkhead, the 19-year-old daughter of the late Anna Nicole Smith, made a memorable appearance at the 152nd Kentucky Derby on Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky.

A Bold New Look

The teenager showcased her evolving fashion sense, sporting a chic strapless black Mac Duggal gown with a large white flower, platform heels, and a feathered headpiece. She paired this with a newly adopted pixie cut and a darker hair color, marking a departure from her signature blonde style.

Father-Daughter Duo

Dannielynn was accompanied by her father, photographer Larry Birkhead, who complemented her look in a black button-down shirt, white sports jacket, and trousers. The pair shared their experience on Instagram, with Birkhead captioning their photos, 'And we’re off… to the 152nd @kentuckyderby with Dannielynn after an awesome Barnstable-Brown party last night!'

From Gala to Derby

Dannielynn first unveiled her new look at the Barnstable Brown Gala the previous evening, wearing a black Punk Rave gown. Her blonde hair was transformed into a shorter pixie cut with darker dyed ends.

“Coming Into Her Own”

Birkhead, 53, embraced the goth-rock theme in a Phillipp Plein jacket. He shared with People that Dannielynn is 'coming into her own,' and wanted something 'edgy and cool.' He initially worried about the haircut but supports her self-expression.

A Family Tradition

The father-daughter pair are becoming regulars at the Kentucky Derby, often drawing comparisons to Anna Nicole Smith, who passed away in 2007. Last year, Dannielynn honored her mother by wearing the same black gown Smith wore to the Barnstable Brown Gala 21 years prior.

Birkhead described that moment as 'full circle.' Smith and Birkhead met at the Barnstable Brown Gala in 2003, and Dannielynn was born in September 2006. Following Smith’s death, DNA tests confirmed Birkhead as Dannielynn’s biological father, and he has since been her devoted parent.
